Overview

This project involved the installation of aluminium cladding, glazed balustrades and portico canopies to a large residential development in London. OMFC International was engaged to deliver these building envelope and balcony elements across the scheme, working in close collaboration with the principal contractor throughout.

OMFC International’s site team carried out the works in full accordance with the project specification and programme, maintaining a close and professional working relationship with the contractor at every stage. This was a long-duration project that presented a number of site obstacles along the way; these were overcome through careful planning and a determined site team, and the works were brought to a successful, high-quality completion.

Scope of works

  1. Installation of aluminium cladding panels to the building facade, including the feature terracotta-finish cladding to the upper floors and balcony surrounds.
  2. Installation of glazed balustrades to balconies and roof terraces.
  3. Installation of portico canopies to balcony areas.
  4. Installation of associated waterproofing, membrane detailing and sealant works to balcony upstands and parapets.
  5. Close collaboration with the principal contractor throughout a long-duration programme, working in accordance with the agreed specification.
  6. Deployment of a qualified, certificated OMFC International installation team using mobile access towers and specialist access equipment.

Installation process

The photographs below show OMFC International’s team on site over the course of this long-duration project, from access and scaffold work, through cladding panel installation, to the waterproofing and sealant detailing that completes each balcony and parapet junction.
